ABV and standard-drink math are planning tools, not permission: guest counts, pacing, food, and driving all matter more than any ratio. Never let a guest who will drive leave with a pour in hand, and keep the food coming — alcohol math is a hosting tool, not a safety guarantee.

Dilution percentages vary with ice temperature, shape, and stirring vigor. Taste every batch — the calculator starts the balance, the spoon finishes it.

Accuracy of calculations

We implement well-known, publicly documented formulas (see the methodology section on each calculator page and standard bartending practice and USDA alcohol data as applicable). Even correctly implemented formulas produce estimates that depend on your inputs and assumptions. Real-world outcomes vary. Do not rely on a single web tool for a consequential decision.
