Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026. This policy explains what information CocktailRatio (the "Site", https://www.cocktailratio.app) collects, why, and the choices you have.

The short version: our calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to or stored on our servers. Like most websites, we do use cookies — mainly for advertising — and this page explains exactly how.

1. Information we collect

  • Calculator inputs: not collected. All calculations execute locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you enter (income, loan amounts, weights, dates, grades, etc.) is transmitted to us or anyone else.
  • Local storage: your cookie-consent choice and minor UI preferences may be stored in your browser's local storage. You can clear this anytime via your browser settings.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL for security and performance. This is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy, not controlled by us.
  • Email: if you email us, we receive your message and address, and use them only to reply.

2. Cookies and consent

On your first visit we show a consent banner. Non-essential cookies — including advertising cookies — are only used consistent with your choice, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser. Strictly functional storage (remembering your consent choice) is always used.

3. Advertising and Google AdSense

CocktailRatio is a free, ad-supported publication. We display advertising through Google AdSense.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent choice before personalized ads are served.

4. Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate traffic measurement to understand which pages are useful. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves and we never sell personal data.

5. Your rights

EEA/UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Our lawful basis for advertising cookies is consent.

California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. You may request disclosure of the categories of information collected and exercise your rights by emailing us.

To exercise any right, email hello@cocktailratio.app. Because our calculators collect nothing, most requests will simply confirm that we hold no personal data about you.

6. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our pages link to third-party websites (for example, public agencies or reference material). We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please read their policies separately.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site or applicable law evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
